Another busy meeting at the Scout Hut - despite a few absences from those on their holidays
Our July meeting saw the rare appearance of the sun - which inspired Pete to move the garden railway equipment outside. Other members were working on a variety of 009 and 0-16.5 projects at the Scout Hut, whilst Dave had several SM32 items.

We welcomed Jurgen (and his wife) who was travelling back from the Burton 7mmNGA show. He brought a photo plank which he used to display some lovely 0-16.5 models.
Our May meeting was another busy one with members and guests working on a variety of 009 and 0-16.5 projects at the Scout Hut.
Our April meeting saw sixteen members and guests at the Scout Hut.
Pete had brought Morton Yard - which now has a small fiddle yard.
Graeme brought his sales stall and a developing 009 layout - which hosted Chris's Fourdees Hunslet and Pete's tiny 3D printed Simplex.
Matt, Matthew and Steve were busily building things, whilst John and Andi were working on the 0-16.5 modules.
The March meeting once again saw a good turnout with members bringing a range of items in 009 and 0-16.5.
We had two layouts which were new to the group.
Pete & Martin brought their Scrapton 009 layout and Peter Bell had Amery Town also in 009.
The larger scale contingent included Peter Harris's European outline items.
Our February meeting saw ten members and guests at the Scout Hut.
Pete and Andi were working on a second SM32 module to join on to Morton Yard.
Garry was working on rolling stock upgrades for his L&B layout.
Meanwhile John had brought his shunting layout - and challenged members to beat the puzzle.
Chris had provided a Lemon Drizzle cake - which was enjoyed by all present.
A busy meeting with thirteen members and guests in attendance.
A brief AGM was held during a lunch break.
Pete and Graeme were planting more buildings on the group 009 layout.
Garry showed further progress with Blackmoor Gate, whilst Bob, Pete and Martin were busy fixing things!
Meanwhile Matt was weathering his 3D printed stock.
Peter Bell brought a number of 009 "specials" which were run on the layouts present.
Our December meeting was the 20th anniversary of the group.
Our attendees included two of the original members - Garry and Jeff.
The meeting featured our first ever modelling competition - with four entries in our Santa Sleigh contest.
Pete's sleigh featured music, a light-up Rudolph nose and sparklers!
Steve had built his sleigh into a dragster, whilst Chris amazed us all by managing to get his sleigh to balance on 009 track.
All other members and guests judge the sleighs and Bob's Christmas train was declared the winner and recipient of our trophy.
We then shared a Christmas buffet - toasting the group with alcohol free beer provided by Matt.
Our November meeting saw ten members and guests at the Scout Hut.
Graeme and Pete spent time progressing the club's Morton Hill 009 layout.
Garry brought along Blackmoor Gate (009) showing further progress - including a camera to show the fiddle yard when operating from the front of the layout.
Steve was building houses for his developing layout.
Andi and John were working on scenery for Andi's 0-16.5 Quarry module.
Matthew brought along some 009 and 0-16.5 rolling stock and spent the morning painting.
Our Open Day at the Scout Hut was well attended with layouts in 009, 0-16.5 and SM32.

Our meeting in September at the Scout Hut saw significant progress on a number of projects.
Good progress on the group's modular 0-16.5 layout with scenic areas completed.
Pete had gone large and had made progress on the SM32 test track/module, now named Morton Yard.
Garry's Blackmoor Gate 009 layout was another that had come a long way since the last meeting.
Bob had also been working hard on Ashe Rock - which was looking like a completed layout (although there's still work to do).
Mrs B. provided a fruit cake which was enjoyed by all.
Scenic develops on the group modules included a signal box with detailed interior and working lights.
The module was connected to several others to test operations before our Open Day.
Pete had made progress on the SM32 micro layout (just 4ft x 3ft).
A scratchbuilt goods building had been added to break-up the corner.
More scenic work is planned before the layout makes its public debut at the October Open Day

Garry had been busy on his L&B layout.
The first half now has buildings and a backscene.
Throughout the day Garry installed a fiddle yard which will mean trains can run at the forthcoming Open Day.
Bob's dockside 0-16.5 micro layout was another showing major progress.
The dockyard buildings forming the backscene are now in place, with Ashe Rock Dock and Harbour Board signage.
In preparation for its debut appearance at the Open Day, a number of modules were linked up.
A successful test confirmed that trains could run the full length.
Pete spent much of the day with a tape measure and graph paper planning the room layout for the Open Day.
By the end of the day a plan was confirmed which should ensure we have a range of layouts in multiple scales and gauges.
Our August meeting saw 15 members and guests at the Scout Hut.
Further progress on the group's modular 0-16.5 layout, with several modules combined.
Pete and Graeme spent time planning the scenery for the group 009 layout.
Also progressing was an SM32 test track/module using Hornby tinplate track.
Bread pudding courtesy of Mrs C. was enjoyed by all.
The developing 0-16.5 modules were combined to create a long run down the centre of the hut.
Further modules were being worked on to develop scenery and electrical controls.
There was further progress on the new group 009 layout - with a mock-up of buildings and scenic features.
A mixture of card kits and resin buildings are planned to develop an industrial scene.
Hugh had been busy on the scenic elements of his 0-16.5 module.
Work included a signal box with fully detailed interior including carpet and armchair providing creature comforts for the signalling staff.
Member Garry had made progress on his latest L&B layout in 009.
He was mocking-up positions of buildings and checking the operation of the layout.
Our developing range of layouts now includes a 4ft x 3ft SM32 module.
This uses Hornby tinplate track as a quick and easy way to build a small layout for use with radio-controlled locos.
Bob's 0-16.5 micro layout was another to show good progress.
The layout features inset track to create a dockside scene.
Another busy meeting at the Scout Hut with significant progress on the group's modular 0-16.5 layout.
By the end of the day several modules had been joined together and a first train ran the full length of three modules.
Pete and Graeme continued working on the group's 009 micro layout with a complete powered loop finished by lunchtime!
Garry brought along his L&B Blackmoor Gate layout - confirming that he could fit it in his car!
He also had trains running during the day.
Lemon drizzle cake courtesy of Mrs B. was enjoyed by all.
Fuelled by tea and lemon drizzle cake - Hugh made great progress on the two club modules.
Track laying was completed by the end of the meeting.

Hugh brought along his Corris coach for 7mm narrow gauge.
The coach was built from an Ionic Rail kit.
Garry was working on his latest L&B layout in 009.
This time based on the station and surroundings at Blackmoor Gate.
Andi had made progress on his 0-16.5 module.
This is based on the section of the Glyn Valley Tramway that runs passed a disused quarry.
As a group we try not to take things too seriously as Andi's layout signs confirm!
One of our busiest meetings at the Scout Hut once again saw members and guests working on (and demonstrating) locos, rolling stock and layouts in a range of gauge/scale combinations.
We also had a working cliff railway thanks to Peter Bell - not narrow gauge but a nice piece of modelling.
Andi., John and Hugh were making progress on the 0-16.5 modular layout.
Meanwhile, Pete and Graeme were working on the group's new 009 layout using Peco SetTrack. They even had a train running by the afternoon.
Garry was planning his latest Lynton & Barnstaple layout in 009 - with a trackplan based on Blackmoor Gate.
It was lovely to see returning member Brian attending.
Brian brought this lovely little railcar.
His back story was imaginative - a shopping vehicle for the Chief Engineer's wife and daughter!

Based on a Langley kit - modified to a broader gauge for stability and reliability

The group boards had track laid by the end of the meeting.
Andi was demonstrating his cheap but strong method of creating scenery from paper.
John brought several items of rolling stock - including a modified Bagnall loco
These were tested on Andi's module using paper to form his ground contours
The increasing number of members working in 0-16.5 were deep in discussions around the developing modular layout.
Our May meeting at the Scout Hut once again saw members and guests working on (and demonstrating) locos, rolling stock and layouts in a range of gauge/scale combinations. We also had live steam courtesy of Steve's Mamod loco.
Graeme had his sales stall - with a focus this month on 0-16.5 items.
Pete gave an overview of radio control to an attentive audience.
Bob showed progress on his 0-16.5 layout with new warehouse/factory backscene

A few locos were run up the hills
Hugh's 0-16.5 Dolgoch model - from a Wrightlines kit ran circuits of the curved sections of the modular layout
Steve brought a Momod loco which hadn't been run for a while.
Despite the concerns of the fire marshal, a change to solid fuel saw the loco steaming well on the SM32 test track

The first boards for our group 0-16.5 modular layout had been refurbished. Andi and Hugh spent time developing the trackplan.
Steve brought his embryonic 009 layout to the meeting.
His planned track layout and scenery should provide plenty of operational interest.
